LONG-LASTING PROTECTION - Developed specifically for refurbishment and overlay applications where greater life expectancy is needed. Durashield Roof In A Box flexible elastomeric system offers a 10-year life expectancy when using the fully built-up system.
SUITABLE FOR MOST SUBSTRATES - A flexible and highly elastic system with excellent adhesion on most surfaces such as flat roofs, weathered asphalt and bituminous surfaces, concrete, brickwork, fibreglass and grp, weathered plys, OSB/plywood, wooden substrates and EPDM.
INSTANT WATERPROOF PROTECTION -Our ready-to-use, cold-applied liquid rubber-based system instantly waterproofs the affected area, providing a long-lasting and easy-to-apply solution. Once opened Durashield can be resealed and used again.
Application Details
Preparation
- Clear all areas of moss, lichen and debris by brushing or power washing and remove surface water and any contamination such as Oil or Grease.
- Allow to dry.
- Apply Britannia Fungicidal Wash to prevent further fungal/algal growth.
Application
- Stir well before use.
- Do not thin.
- The substrate and ambient temperature for the application of the system must be between 5°C – 30°C.
- To the dry and cleaned surface, apply a generous coat of Britannia Durashield FD Primer by brush or solvent resistant roller at a minimum spreading rate of 3-5m² per litre.
- After the Durashield FD Primer has dried.
- Embed the reinforcing scrim into the wet Durashield basecoat applied at a rate of 1m² per litre, whilst avoiding creasing.
- Adjacent lengths of the reinforcement must overlap by 50mm.
- Finish with a further coat of Durashield as a topcoat at a rate of 0.5m² per litre ensuring that the reinforcement scrim is completely encapsulated.
- Final drying time is up to 1.5 hours or overnight depending on temperature and conditions.
